📏 Mileage & Planning (Read this if you navigate by mile markers)
Katy Trail mile markers follow the former MKT Railroad numbers. Because today’s trail sometimes departs from the original rail bed, distances based strictly on mile markers can be off.
For planning day rides, use Bike Katy Trail's distance-based chart (measured on the current trail alignment):
➡️ Katy Trail Mileage Chart (distance-based)
Disclaimer: The measurements on the linked page are based on distance rather than mile markers and, to the best of our knowledge, are accurate to within ~½ mile.
Tip: Download/print your route in case cell service is spotty, and build in a little buffer time when you’re planning turn-backs, shuttles, or winery reservations.
